Since 1803, with seven generations of family continuity, the same family has consistently been at the helm of the historic Gran Caffè Renzelli. A unique example of a family-run business on the Italian scene, which, through 220 years of uninterrupted history, has managed to preserve and pass on this Gran Caffè, which began in 1803 as a sorbet parlour, which was later transformed into a factory producing sweets, sugared almonds, nougat and confectionery, becoming a leading name in the art of confectionery in Italy. It has been honoured with two gold medals and a grand prize for its confectionery products, such as the ‘Varchiglia di Cosenza Renzelli’, awarded by the Italian National Academy of Cuisine and UnionCamere Nazionale in recognition of these unique specialities.
