National Day of Italy’s Locali Storici
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of Italy’s National Day of Locali Storici concluded with great success throughout the peninsula, reaffirming its status as an event of national significance. The event, held—as is tradition—on the first Saturday of October, celebrated the rich historical and cultural heritage represented by the Association’s members.
The event saw widespread participation, with numerous venues opening their doors to offer the public the opportunity to rediscover the history and charm of these unique places. The program included guided tours, tastings, cultural events, and opportunities for socializing.
Thanks to the dedication of the owners and their staff, the event once again proved to be a much-anticipated occasion, successfully blending tradition and modernity and breathing new life into the living legacy of Italian hospitality and excellence.

Maddalena Fossati Dondero has been named Ambassador of the Associazione Locali Storici d’Italia for 2025!
A native of Milan, a journalist since 1997 and a lover of good food, Maddalena Fossati Dondero has made writing and taste her way of describing the world. Having always been passionate about food, conviviality and food-themed films, she loves the moment that follows a meal – that ‘sobremesa’ so dear to Spanish culture – just as much as the meal itself.
She lived for years in Barcelona and Paris, where she was won over by Joël Robuchon’s refined cuisine. Travelling is a genuine joy for her: she only has to step through the doors of an airport to feel happy already.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with some of the most prominent Italian and international publications, including Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, Elle, Elle Decor, up to Vanity Fair, where he held the post of for seven years lifestyle editor.
Since 1 September 2017, she has been the proud editor-in-chief of La Cucina Italiana, a long-established magazine that has fuelled her dreams ever since she was a young girl and which now brings her new, delicious delights every day.
His appointment as Ambassador for Italy’s Historic Establishments by the Executive Board is not only a prestigious honour, but also a crucial step towards promoting our country’s cultural and gastronomic heritage.
This collaboration strengthens the bond between Italian excellence and a public that is increasingly attuned to tradition, authenticity and beauty.
