The intricately carved wooden bar counter in the Sala Verde of the Gran Caffè Renzelli dates from the late 19th / early 20th century and is in the Art Nouveau (Liberty) style. The original cast-iron tables with lion heads from the late nineteenth to early twentieth centuries, the triptychs of mirrors in the Sala Rossa dating from the Fascist era between 1919 and 1930, and the plaster frames – originally fitted with oil lamps and later with electric bulbs – from the early 1900s constitute a unique and well-preserved heritage; the Gran Caffè Renzelli, ‘the café with two doors’, is nestled within the 16th-century Palace of the Archiepiscopal Curia.
