Founded in 1830 as a “hotel with livery” a stone's throw from Porta Palazzo (Europe's largest open-air food market), the establishment became a natural crossroads for traders and
travellers. The construction of the bridge over the Dora river and the opening of the “Turin - Porta Milano” railway station made it a compulsory stopping point. A hub of culture and popular memory, it preserves its original early 20th-century furnishings intact, from the fir flooring to the wood panelling and historic sign.
