A new chapter in the history of Santa Margherita Ligure: the Taverna Colombo has officially been recognised as one of Italy’s Historic Establishments
This prestigious award celebrates the cultural significance and identity of the venue, as recognised by the official visit of Mayor Guglielmo Caversazio.
Santa Margherita Ligure has once again proved itself to be one of the leading centres of traditional hospitality, having achieved a significant new milestone: the official admission of Taverna Colombo to the Association of Historic Establishments of Italy.
The significance of the event for the community was underlined by a visit from the Mayor of Santa Margherita Ligure, Guglielmo Caversazio. The Mayor expressed great enthusiasm and pride in this achievement, describing Taverna Colombo as a benchmark of excellence, capable of bringing further prestige and visibility to the town on an international level.
The meeting between the local council and the organisers, Gaetano Girgenti and Angelo Calvello, took place in an atmosphere of deep institutional solidarity and cordiality. It was a sombre yet intimate occasion that bore witness to the strong synergy between the area’s historic institutions and the local authorities, which have always been committed to preserving tradition.
“We wanted to emphasise just how supportive the institutions and the local council have been, showing great interest in the Guide sponsored by the Ministry,” commented Girgenti and Calvello, expressing their deep appreciation for Mayor Caversazio’s presence and thanking the Association for including the restaurant in this prestigious circle.
With this latest addition, the Association of Historic Establishments of Italy continues its work to promote the country’s historical heritage, celebrating those establishments that have managed to preserve their identity and their tradition of hospitality over the years.
