The National Day of Italy’s Historic Venues is back

There are places that do more than simply offer a service; they preserve the memory of our country. Hotels that have hosted great historical figures, cafés where revolutionary ideas were conceived, pizzerias and restaurants that preserve centuries-old recipes: Italy’s Historic Establishments represent a living cultural heritage that is accessible to all.
On 3 October, the National Day of Italy’s Historic Establishments returns – an event created to celebrate these outstanding venues and enable the public to rediscover their historical and artistic value.

Keeping history alive: a commitment to the future

In an age dominated by standardisation, preserving the identity of an establishment with decades – or centuries – of history behind it is an act of great responsibility.

Keeping this memory alive means protecting the architecture, the traditions of Italian hospitality and the human stories that have unfolded within those walls. Every hotel lounge, every piece of period furniture and every recipe handed down through the generations are fundamental elements of our cultural heritage.

Events scheduled for 3 October

To mark National Day, the establishments taking part in the initiative will open their doors to the public with a range of activities, such as guided tours, tastings, special menus, etc.
