Select was founded in 1920 in the Castello district, the historic heart of Venice, drawing on the extensive experience in liqueur-making of the Fratelli Pilla & C. distillery. It is an aperitif with a complex blend of 30 aromatic herbs, expertly processed through a long and intricate process in accordance with the original recipe from the 1920s.

Among these, rhubarb roots stand out for their intense bitter note, as do juniper berries, which are macerated and distilled on their own using traditional artisanal methods. This special production process gives it great body and length, making it particularly well-suited for mixing. Its refined aromatic profile and balanced bittersweet flavor make Select the indispensable ingredient of the authentic Venetian Spritz: a unique, more sophisticated, and intense taste experience. As Venetian tradition dictates, the Select Spritz recipe is completed with a large green olive, just as it is still served today in the most traditional bars of the Lagoon. Since 1988, the Select brand has been part of the Montenegro Group, which continues the tradition to this day by following the original recipe.
