A splendid example of the Liberty style, still with its original early-twentieth-century floral-motif counter, floors, ceiling and even lighting. The founder, Enrico Vigoni, created the Torta Paradiso, the gastronomic symbol of Pavia which won the International Milan Expo gold medal in 1901, 1902 and 1906. With a secret ingredient, it was still fresh when it arrived abroad. The pastry shop for the ancient university opposite, it is a cultural meeting place and has for generations been the official supplier to another historical establishment: the Grand Hotel Miramare in Santa Margherita. Five generations.

The Most Art Nouveau

Undulating, dynamic, inspired by nature, beautiful: whether from their original construction or following renovations in the late 19th century, over seventy historic venues in Italy embraced the Art Nouveau style. Here they are, brought together in an ideal itinerary to be explored for the pleasure of a “floral stop.” The research was conducted for the 2013 edition and has become part of the historical and cultural heritage of the Guide and the Association of Historic Venues of Italy.
