In 1877, Tchaikovsky composed the first three movements of his Fourth Symphony in room 106, and D’Annunzio, who was almost a habitué when in financial straits, came when invited for the inauguration of the monument to King Vittorio Emanuele II in front of the hotel. A fusion of Beau Rivage and Hotel d’Angleterre et Pension, is now a jewel of 52 rooms and suites, each one unique, featuring furnishings (from Fortuny chandeliers to Murano glass crafted by master artisans) that embody the harmony between history and modernity, with 100 windows overlooking Riva degli Schiavoni and Island of San Giorgio. Meticulous restoration has recreated all its original allure.
